Hey friends. It’s been a while since I last shared anything on my blog but I am glad that this is the first blog I have decided to pen this year. I hope wherever you are, you are well and that the first six months of this year have been kind to you. I pray that the story I share with you today restores your faith should you have lost it with everything that is happening in the world.
We recently moved to a new flat and the bedrooms for this flat are upstairs whilst the kitchen and sitting room are downstairs. So, whenever I am working downstairs and Thando falls asleep I take him upstairs and put him in his cot bed. When he wakes up and realizes that he is alone in the cot bed he starts to cry which serves as an alarm for me.

On Thursday, the first of July 2021, he fell asleep whilst I was busy working and as usual, I took him upstairs and laid him down in the cot bed. I went back downstairs to join my niece Vena and continued to work. Time went by and I heard a voice telling me to go upstairs and check on Thando, I told myself I would finish the line I was working on and then go up. Again, I heard a voice, this time it was in the voice of my Pastor and it was louder than it had been the first time. So, I stood up and made my way to our bedroom. Lo and behold, the biggest shock of my life awaited me.

Thando had woken up and managed to climb out of his cot bed, he is turning 1 year 6 months on the 10th of July. He then climbed onto our bed and went on to climb the ironing board that I had left next to the bed after sorting the laundry. There is a window just above where the ironing board was placed and he had somehow managed to open it. He started throwing the things that were on the ironing board outside through the window. When I walked into the bedroom, I found his upper body dangling outside of the window and his legs dangling on the inside as he attempted to reach for the clothes he had thrown outside. I moved quietly and grabbed him from where he was, closed the window and called Vena who came and took him downstairs whilst I just fell to the floor and started crying. With trembling hands, I called Mdu and told him what had just happened.
Now, about two months before this, during a Sunday service our Pastor shared with the congregation on how we needed to give a seed offering which he termed as a, “Prevailing seed”. For those of you who do not know, a seed is an offering which operates on the principle of seeds whereby; if you plant a seed it will grow and you are assured of a harvest. What you give needs to be precious and move your heart be it money or possessions. One thing our Pastor is always emphasizing to us is that a seed offering can talk for you when your need for a miracle comes and that one should not wait until they are in danger or in a point of need to finally give this kind of offering.

With the teachings we had received we took the money we had and placed it in an envelope and gave it as our prevailing seed offering. Pastor then called us to his office and let us know that the Holy Spirit was instructing him to pray for our marriage and family and he scheduled more meetings with us for the future. In our second meeting with him after giving this offering, Pastor Isaac told me to learn to listen to the Holy Spirit and that I should not expect to hear a loud booming voice when the Holy Spirit spoke but that it would be an inner voice that would compel me to act upon whatever instruction I was given. In that very same meeting, he gave me an example and said, “one day the Holy Spirit will tell you to go and check on your son whilst he is sleeping and you should listen”…

This is just part of the story, but for today, I will end here. I will share the second part next Monday, but I hope that this first part stirs something within you to show you the power of God. I encourage you to join us in this walk of faith from wherever you are and let God’s destiny for your life prevail. You can join us for church services via zoom and every morning at 4:00am CAT we have a “prayer for change” with Pastor Isaac because we believe in talking to the Holy Spirit before talking to anyone else and starting our day. Until next Monday, have a beautiful and grace filled week ahead.
