Meet the Author part 3

Happy mother’s day to all the Queens out there, we love you and we appreciate you. As a mom, I am excited to bring you this edition of meet the Author, because the book celebrates parenthood and the lessons from it I hope to impart to my son.

There are moments in life when you can’t help but feel proud of someone’s achievements and this creative is honestly one of the few people I am proud to know personally. I call him a creative because not only did he write this book but he also created all the artwork in the book and I got to watch him do so every single day and on some days he’d finish around 4:00am and only get three hours of sleep. The dedication he put into creating this stellar masterpiece made me respect his work even more.

Now I may be biased because I get to call him husband but after you get a hold of the book I am certain that you will also agree that I have earned myself some bragging rights. Mduduzi Mabhena is a multi potentialite creative, a motion graphics designer and now he gets to add writer to his bio as well. His book was inspired by his desire to be independent and free from the uncertainty, frustration and stress that comes from being an employee.

With the birth of our son, his quest for being free from traditional work lines has been on an all time high. Financial parenting is a must and he decided to find a way to teach our son these life lessons through a book which would not only allow them to bond and share quality time but also enable him to instill the crucial life lessons that he wishes he had learnt from a young age. Curious Thando is a children’s book which parents can also learn from because sometimes the best way to learn is through teaching. It encourages the exploration of children’s talents and nurturing those talents whilst also investing in them.

The book helps children know about the behind the scenes of some of the things they love like story books and or cartoons so that they have a deeper appreciation for how those things were created and also helps them to realize that there are more jobs outside of the usual employment lines. Thus encouraging children to earn a living by doing what they are passionate about and what they love.

Curious Thando shows the importance and the perks of being self employed whilst imparting leadership qualities to the child to ensure that if and when they do become an entrepreneur they have the tools that will help them to succeed and be able to easily adapt to whatever environment they may find themselves in. The book is written in a way that makes these fundamental life lessons comprehensible even for toddlers through the use of illustrations that help to explain the lessons being taught. It can be a bed time story and even an afternoon read for you and your young ones.
