Moreblessing “Momo” Size
Last Saturday was a vibe at the first Notes and Bars Poetry Chill Session hosted by Tsonga Mukololo Publications in Harare. The mood of the day lasted the whole weekend and poured over into the week. The guests left asking for more of everything, from the performances to the food and even the drinks!
A wonderful accompaniment to the performances was the acoustics by Tapuwa Bright Chisvo “TBright” and Donald Kanyuchi “Donny”. The sound coupled with the voices of the ladies whose poems not only evoked emotions but also inspired and quenched a thirst the people were not aware they had.

Moreblessing Tafireyi popularly known in the writing and poetry circles as Moreblessing “Momo” Size is one of the poets who graced the stage. She had the crowd asking for an encore which she gave ever so effortlessly with a smile even angels can’t help but bless her for.

“And thank you for Moreblessing she’s such a vibe!”
“She’s a fiery songbird; such a beautiful contrast!”

Here is an xcerpt from one of the poems she won an award for:
“We women
Women who bite our tongues when our men enter the room.
Women who hold back our dreams in applause as he conquers the world.
We women who drown in service, tired and drained, Feet sore, back aching but trudging on with a smile outside while wilting inside.”
Moreblessing Size’s writing is confronting yet light to the ear, hence Tsonga Mukololo describes her as a ‘fiery songbird’, she writes with authenticity as she speaks of her challenges, weight and skin wars and speaks up on issues to do with abuse through her therapy journey as a woman who has survived life challenges that could have killed, disabled and weakened her will live.
